Fufluns, named after the Etruscan God of Wine is managed by it’s Owner and Director Filippo Magnani.

He is 34 years old and in 1999 set up Fufluns, Wine Gourmet Tours in Tuscany. He took a Diploma in Economics and Management of Tourist Services at Florence University before going on to work in the field of tourism and gastronomy in the USA, Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Spain for international tourist organizations such as Club Med, Westin Hotels, Relais and Chateaux, Kempinski Hotels.

He speaks fluent English, German and French. He has travelled through different wine regions abroad: California (Napa Valley), Argentina (Mendoza), New Zealand, Austria, Germany, France (Bordeaux, Loire Valley, Burgundy).
In 2001 and 2002 he attended wine-tasting courses at the Le Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux. In 2006 he gained a Diploma at the Wines & Spirit Education Trust of London, in order to be eligible to take the Master of Wine.

He also attended courses on olive oil at the Associazione Olivicoltori Toscani.

He is member of Slow Food and FIJEV (International Federation of Wine & Spirit Journalists & Writers). He writes for Italian magazines Firma (Diners Club) and Corriere Vinicolo (Wine Magazine).

To reach Bolgheri, a small village on the north coast of Tuscany, you must travel up a stunning 5km road lined by impressive cypress trees (as described by the famous Italian poet Carducci). This is where "Super Tuscan Wines" were born; the land of Sassicaia, Grattamacco and Ornellaia. Recently there has been a growth of smaller wineries making some of the world's best wines. Continuing South through beautiful countryside you reach Suvereto, a pretty medieval village whose origins date bate before 1000.Set in the fertile valley of the River Cornia, snuggled in the hills overlooking the Costa degli Etruschi, Suvereto is rich not only in art and history but in all it’s local produce and enterprises, from olive oil, cheese, wild boar delicacies and wine to farm holiday resorts and festivals. Super Tuscan wines are produced with international grapes, like Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and are aged in french barriques (oak casks 225 litres) .

The avenue of the Carducci (5 kms of endless beauty will be covered with various stops to allow picture taking and for an introduction to the production of the supertuscans……)
The clue happening of the afternoon event will be the visit in one of the following top wineries of Bolgheri:
Grattamacco, Michael Satta or Le Macchiale or Campo alla Sughera, Gaja, Sassicaia

Starting at 11:15 AM, Filippo Magnani himself will introduce you to the amazing wine production of Tuscany. You will be comparing the traditional areas of Brunello, Chianti and Montepulciano with the new, trendy areas of Maremma (Tuscan Coast, land of the Supertuscans Wines)

Next, you will be visiting one of the top cellars in Brunello. Top wineries such as: Soldera , Poggio di Sotto, Salvioni, Barbi

Lunch will be arranged in a second top winery such as: Barbi, Prime Donne, Corte Pavone

After lunch, derive to Siena for a nice walk and shopping…..
